There is a specific kind of exhaustion that hits by day two of any trade show. Feet sore from a concrete floor, phone at nineteen percent, a folder of business cards that somehow got heavier since lunch, and still two more buildings to walk through before the day is done.
We have been there. We are WESA members ourselves, and every August and January we go through the same scramble everyone else does. Which hotel is actually close. Where to get a decent meal that is not another bag of chips from the vendor table. Whether there is time to see anything of Texas beyond a convention center parking lot.
So this year we put together the guide we always wished someone had handed us. Everything about WESA Trade Show 2026 in one place, plus the honest answer to whether you can fit in a real taste of cowboy country while you are here. You can. Here is the whole thing.
What WESA Trade Show Actually Is
The Western & English Sales Association was organized back in 1921, built around a simple idea: give retailers, manufacturers, and sales representatives a real forum to do business in an atmosphere of fair trade and fellowship. More than a century later, that is still exactly what happens twice a year at the Dallas Market Center.
The August 2026 edition runs four full days, Tuesday, August 18 through Friday, August 21, with more than 550 exhibitors and thousands of retail buyers walking the floor across over 200,000 square feet of exhibit space. The categories span Western apparel and accessories, tack, leather goods, animal health products, English apparel and equipment, and equestrian-related home decor, gifts, and jewelry.
Show hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
WESA calls itself "Where the Industry Meets," and after walking that floor enough times, it is hard to argue with the tagline.
The Full Four-Day Schedule
Here is exactly what happens each day, straight from the official event schedule, so you can plan around it rather than stumble into it.
Tuesday, August 18 - Opening Night Mixer 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., WTC 11
This year's opener honors 40 years of English products at WESA with an English-themed evening of networking and celebration. Open bar and hors d'oeuvres are served right on the floor at WTC 11. This is the single best networking window of the entire show, since everyone is fresh and nobody has hit the day-three wall yet.
Wednesday, August 19 - Frozen Frontier 1:00 p.m., WTC 11
A liquid nitrogen ice cream station, flash-freezing scoops in front of you while you socialize with fellow attendees. A genuinely fun mid-show break, and a good excuse to linger at WTC 11 a little longer than planned.
Thursday, August 20 - Morning on the Range 11:00 a.m., WTC 11
Fresh coffee and a biscuit bar to ease into the day before the floor gets busy. Good for a low-key catch-up with a contact you have been meaning to sit down with.
Thursday, August 20 - 24th Annual WESA Benefit Golf Tournament 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Topgolf Dallas - Park Lane.
This year's tournament runs a new format at Topgolf, with registration including dinner, drink tickets, contests, and awards. Player registration closes August 7, 2026, so this is the one item on this whole schedule that needs action well before you land in Dallas. Friday, August 21 - Most Innovative Product Award Announcement 11:00 a.m., announced via Instagram @WESAtradeshow.

Getting There
From Dallas Love Field Airport
About 5.7 miles, roughly 12 minutes without traffic, up to 20 minutes during busier periods. Head southeast on Cedar Springs Road, then right on West Mockingbird Lane, then merge onto I-35E South, taking exit 430B toward Market Center Boulevard.
From Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
About 16.8 miles, roughly 20 minutes without traffic, up to 30 minutes during busier periods. Leave DFW from the South Entrance onto International Parkway South, take the TX-183 East ramp toward Irving/Dallas, then merge onto I-35E South to the Market Center Boulevard exit.
From Downtown Dallas
Just 1.6 miles, about 2 minutes. Head north on I-35E North, take the exit toward Wycliff Avenue/Market Center Boulevard, and you are there.
Parking
Handicap parking is available in front of the Trade Mart. Valet parking is available where signage indicates. Trailer parking is available in Lot C and WTC Dock 1. WESA publishes a detailed parking map on the official venue information page, worth downloading before you arrive.
Where to Stay - Best Affordable Hotels Near the Show
WESA maintains an official hotel block with negotiated rates, and these are the exact current rates and walking distances from the show floor. Book through the official WESA hotel link rather than a general travel site to make sure you get the negotiated rate and are counted in the block.
The Closest, Most Affordable Options
Fairfield Inn & Suites Medical/Market Center, 0.62 miles from the venue, $141 per night. The lowest rate in the entire official block.
Holiday Inn Express Dallas Market Center, 0.43 miles from the venue, $144 per night. This is the closest property to the show floor of any hotel on the list, and still among the most affordable.
Spark by Hilton Dallas Market Center, 2.24 miles from the venue, $149 per night. A short drive rather than a walk, but a strong rate if the closer properties fill up first.
Crowne Plaza Dallas Market Center, 3.68 miles from the venue, $153 per night.
Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Market Center, 0.57 miles from the venue, $156 per night.
Courtyard Dallas Market Center, 0.62 miles from the venue, $156 per night.
Mid-Range Options Still Close to the Floor
Home2 Suites Dallas Medical Lovefield, 0.6 miles, $164 per night.
Sheraton Suites Market Center Dallas, 0.64 miles, $168 per night.
DoubleTree by Hilton Dallas Market Center, 0.81 miles, $169 per night.

Further Out or More Upscale
Renaissance Dallas, 1.59 miles, $208 per night. Warwick Melrose Dallas, 1.82 miles, $235 per night. Virgin Hotels Dallas, 1.06 miles, $265 per night. Hilton Dallas Park Cities, 5.2 miles, $199 per night, the furthest option on the official list but a reasonable rate if that part of the city suits your plans better.
Room blocks tend to fill from the bottom of the price list up, so if budget matters more than walking distance, book early rather than waiting until the week of the show.
Where to Eat - Restaurants Worth the Short Trip
Rodeo Goat
1926 Market Center Blvd, practically on the show's own street. A local burger and beer spot with a 4.6 rating across more than 8,500 reviews, patio seating, and a rotating list of Texas beers on tap. If you want somewhere close enough to walk to after a long show day, this is it.
Culinary Dropout
150 Turtle Creek Blvd, in the Design District a short drive away. American comfort food with a rooftop bar and live music some nights, 4.4 rating. Good for a group dinner that does not feel like a work dinner.
Ospi Dallas
1621 Oak Lawn Ave, Design District. A 4.7-rated Italian spot with a lively brunch and dinner scene, well reviewed for its pasta and pizza. A little more polished if you are taking a buyer or supplier out.
The Exchange Food Hall
211 S Akard St, a short drive toward downtown. A genuine food hall with multiple vendors under one roof, 4.5 rating, good for a group with different cravings who cannot agree on one cuisine.
Little Ruby's Dallas
2305 Cedar Springs Rd, Uptown. A well-reviewed brunch cafe, 4.4 rating, worth it if you have a morning free before the floor opens.
The Henry
2301 N Akard St, Uptown. A 4.4-rated all-day spot that covers breakfast through dinner and doubles as a bar in the evening, good house-made pastries.
Coffee and Cafes to Fuel Your Show Days
Ascension Coffee - Design District
1621 Oak Lawn Ave. A 4.4-rated coffee and wine bar with a genuinely good tea and espresso program, plus a light food menu. Indoor and patio seating, and reliable if you need real work-from-a-table space between show sessions.
Triumphs Espresso & Whiskey
141 Manufacturing St, Design District. A 4.6-rated spot that runs as a serious coffee shop by day and shifts into a whiskey bar with live jazz some nights. Worth knowing about for both your morning coffee and your evening plans in one place.
Wayward Coffee Co
2025 E Irving Blvd, Design District. A 4.5-rated, quieter option with a calm atmosphere, good for a fast espresso before heading to the floor.
Funny Library Coffee Shop
1445 Turtle Creek Blvd, inside the Virgin Hotel. An eclectic, cozy spot if you are staying nearby or just want somewhere with personality for a working coffee break.
Bars and After-Hours Spots
Monkey Bar on 9
1949 N Stemmons Fwy, essentially the same stretch as the venue itself. A 4.7-rated rooftop bar with sweeping Dallas skyline views, the closest genuine after-hours option to the show floor.
Rodeo Goat
Doing double duty as both a dinner spot and a strong local beer bar, listed above, with a well-stocked selection of Texas brews and a solid happy hour.
Triumphs Espresso & Whiskey
Also doing double duty, shifting from coffee shop to whiskey bar with live jazz on select nights, listed above under cafes.
Happiest Hour
2616 Olive St, closer to downtown. A 4.3-rated rooftop bar with a lively weekend scene, good if you want more energy after a long show day.
Bar Mico
4711 Maple Ave. A 4.7-rated, more intimate lounge with an open mic night and a connected food hall next door, good for a lower-key evening with better conversation odds than a louder room.
Local Markets Worth a Detour
Hi Line Farmers Market
1650 Oak Lawn Ave, right in the Design District, the closest market option to the venue.
Dallas Farmers Market
920 S Harwood St, a short drive toward downtown. A 4.5-rated, genuinely large market with a 26,000-square-foot food hall and artisanal vendor space open daily, plus an open-air weekend pavilion called The Shed featuring farmers, ranchers, and food artisans.
Deep Ellum Outdoor Market
Held the first and third Saturday of the month in the Deep Ellum arts district. An eclectic, handmade-goods market that fits naturally with anyone who appreciates artisan work, which, if you are reading a Hyna blog, is probably you.
If You Have Half a Day, Go to the Fort Worth Stockyards
This is the part of the guide we most wanted to write.
The Fort Worth Stockyards are about 33 to 39 minutes from Dallas Market Center depending on traffic, roughly 35 road miles via I-35W. If you can free up half a day, either the afternoon before the show opens or after the Friday 3:00 p.m. close, this is worth the drive.
The Fort Worth Herd
The official Fort Worth Herd cattle drive happens twice daily, at 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., right down the historic brick streets of Exchange Avenue. It is a genuinely striking thing to watch in person, longhorns walking a route that cattle drives have used since the 1800s, with a narrator explaining the history as it happens. A photo opportunity on one of the longhorns is typically available for a small fee.
Fort Worth Stockyards Station
140 E Exchange Ave, a 4.7-rated shopping and dining complex inside the historic stockyards building, good for browsing western goods and grabbing a meal between activities.
Cowtown Cattlepen Maze
145 E Exchange Ave. Part scavenger hunt, part walking history tour, 4.7-rated, and a genuinely fun way to learn the real history of the stockyards rather than just walking past historical markers.
Stockyards Championship Rodeo
121 E Exchange Ave. A live rodeo with real competitive events, 4.6-rated across more than 3,100 reviews, held in an air-conditioned arena that makes a Texas August considerably more bearable.
Stockyards Museum
131 E Exchange Ave. A small, 4.6-rated museum packed with artifacts and photographs from the stockyards' working history, worth 30 to 45 minutes if you want context for everything else you are seeing.
Billy Bob's Texas
2520 Rodeo Plaza. Billed as the World's Largest Honky Tonk, 4.5-rated across more than 10,000 reviews, with a massive dance floor, live music most nights, a full bar, and even in-house bull riding on Friday and Saturday nights. Cover charges vary by night and act. If you want one unmistakably Texas evening out of your whole trip, this is it.
A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go
Texas in August runs hot, regularly into the high 90s and low 100s, so if you are planning the Stockyards trip, morning or late afternoon beats midday heat, especially since Exchange Avenue closes briefly around each cattle drive.
Dress for the show itself is comfortably Western business casual. Boots, jeans, and a good western shirt are completely at home on this floor, more so than at almost any other trade show you will walk.
Bring a little cash. Smaller vendors at the farmers markets and the bull riding tickets at Billy Bob's have historically run cash-preferred or cash-only.
